Why BORABELA

Technology in three steps

Howick CNC — ±0.1 mm

Input coil of S320GD+Z275 galvanised steel supplied by Wuppermann. The profile is formed into a C or U shape, cut to length and inkjet-labelled according to the assembly documentation. A 12 m profile is produced in 1 minute.

Vertex BD — BIM workflow

Parametric model with IFC, DWG, 3D PDF and Revit-compatible outputs. Direct CNC export to the Howick line without manual re-entry of data.

EN 1090 — CE certification

Certificate of conformity of factory production control to EN 1090 up to execution class EXC2. For every order we issue a Declaration of Performance (DoP) and apply the CE marking.

S320 GD+Z275 steel

Galvanised steel 1.2–1.6 mm thick. C-profiles 100 or 150 mm deep, bracing strap 70×1.2 mm for diagonal stiffening.

Production and design

Howick CNC production

Howick Ltd. machines are the industry standard for LGSF production with over 30 years of tradition. The input coil of S320 GD+Z275 galvanised steel comes from the Austrian supplier Wuppermann. The sheet is formed into a C or U shape, cut to exact lengths and inkjet-labelled according to the assembly documentation. No cutting on site, no improvisation.

Profiles arrive on site labelled and ready for assembly: the assembly crew does not need to modify anything, just screw the parts together.

IFC, DWG, 3D PDF and Revit-compatible output formats in one workflow, without duplicate modelling and manual re-entry of data.

Parametric model: every change in the project is automatically carried over to the production documentation
CNC export: direct output from Vertex BD to the Howick CNC line, eliminating manual data-entry errors

Certification, material and assembly

EN 1090 — CE certification

BORABELA holds a certificate of conformity of factory production control to EN 1090 up to execution class EXC2, scope: production of prefabricated steel parts, components, assemblies and structures from light gauge galvanised profiles.

Profiles and assemblies

C-profile: load-bearing and non-load-bearing wall studs, joists of lightly loaded floors. Depth 100 or 150 mm, thickness 1.2–1.6 mm.

U-profile: base, top and guide tracks, complementary to the C-profiles.

Bracing strap: diagonal stiffening transferring tensile forces, cross-section 70×1.2 mm.

External wall: C100 + mineral insulation + ETICS 180 mm — U = 0.14 W/m²K, passive standard
Floor: truss joist + OSB deck + plasterboard ceiling — Rw 58 dB, REI 60
Roof: truss + thermal insulation + breather membrane — U = 0.12 W/m²K, passive standard

Assembly and logistics

Panels are assembled from individual profiles: every panel has its drawing, the labelled profiles fit together easily and are screwed. A 120 m² family house: from unloading the truck to a finished frame in 5–7 working days.

One type of SFS self-drilling screw for the whole structure. No special tools. Erecting the frame needs no crane for buildings up to two storeys; a crane is used only to unload the truck.

The frame weight depends on the specific house: e.g. the Břevnov house (121 m²) has a complete frame weighing about 5.5 tonnes and fits on one truck. Unloading on site with a crane takes about 1 hour.
